VERY CAREFULY I use a damp paper towel and let it sit with warm water on it ,then use a non abrasive scrubber..
Bar Keepers Friend
When it is cold, I spray it with a grease-cutting cleaner and then use a blade from a hobby knife to scrape off anything stuck on. Keep it almost parallel to the stove top. Wipe clean and rinse well with a wet cloth. I've been doing this for 9 years and it still looks great.
We built a new home but I just could not seem to keep our stove top looking brand new!
I had used "everything" in search of the best [and easiest] way to clean my stove top, and here's what I discovered;
I now use a spray bottle of GOO GONE once each we to maintain that beautiful black glass stove top!
Spray liberally, let sit 10-15 minutes [leave on longer if your stove is really dirty or gunkie]. Use a scraper blade if or when needed.
Make certain to wipe off several times with clear hot water.
I have a maid that works for us, but she never has to worry about using elbow grease to clean our stove.
Give it a try ... it really works!
the product your looking for is on your grocers shelf. Its called Weiman Glass cook Top heavy duty cleaner and polish. squirt some on using a plastic scrubby, sometimes on the back of a sponge, rub out stains , wipe and let dry then use a microfiber cloth to shine and sparkle.
Mr. Clean Magic Eraser works like a dream on my glass top stove!
Weiman is my 'go to' cleaners and available at Walmart
I too use Barkeepers soap spray, soft sponge, rinse well, wipe dry with clean paper towel. I have a glass top stove that looks sparkling new with no scratches because of the soft soap spray. Best of luck.
vinegar and baking soda. make sure you rinse very well
I have had a glass cooktop for over 15 years... I haven't had any problems using this method.....When I am finished cooking and the top is still slightly warm (warmth is not necessary though) I spray with glass cleaner and let it sit while we eat or I clean up from dinner. I then use a window scrapper, the kind that uses a single edge razor blade, and scrape down (with the blade parallel to the surface,) any cooked on spots or gunk and wipe the top down. Then I spray lightly with glass cleaner again and wipe dry. Depending on how much I cook I also clean it occasionally with the Weiman's glass cooktop cleaner and polish (mentioned above) Also for glass cleaner for the last couple of years I have used a mixture of water, vinegar, isopropol rubbing alchohol and a drop or two of dishwashing liquid (the kind you use for hand washing dishes) I usually make this in a used glass cleaner spray bottle. for that I fill the bottle 1/3 with distilled white vinegar, 1/4 cup (2 0z.) of the rubbing alcohol and fill the rest of the way with warm water. Add the drop of dish washing liquid, put the sprayer top back on and shake well. I use it to clean counter tops and everything. The vinegar is a natural disinfectant and cuts grease, the alcohol also cuts grease and other spots and helps the surface dry, the dish liquid also helps cut grease and cleans. Much safer for you and your house
