I don't have one but I do know that soap stone is what people who are learning to sculpt in stone start with (soap stone) because it is the softest stone available, that tells me I am not sure if I want for a counter. But they must do something to make it functional.
We used them in our lab and they are awesome. You can sometimes find lab tables at the ReStores or other thrift places that accept old office furniture. You can remove the tops and use them as counter tops.
