Pantry Turned Powder Room

by Toni Lynn Steeves
My husband and I wanted a powder room on the first floor of our home. When all of the kids lived at home we had turned our mud room into a pantry. Now, with two of the kids out of the nest, the pantry is no longer needed. We decided to remove the cabinets and put a power room in their place. When we tore down the paneling and drywall, to our surprise, the original wood siding from the early 1900's was still on the original exterior walls. (This area used to be the back porch of the house.) We decided to keep the wood siding. The powder room is not complete in these pictures. We had to get it built and functioning before the holidays. I will post another picture once the walls are painted and the wall hangings are up. It is very difficult to take a picture of the room due to it's side and the angle options I have to chose from.
