How to make storage from wood that looks like metal?

I have a wooden CD storage cabinet that has 6 shelves with glass barrister doors that I'd remove. How to paint the wood to look like galvanized metal. Need a simple way to make removable bins out of galvanized metal (or some other kind) since I don't have anything but hand tools. Keeping with the metal theme should I use metal legs or maybe use industrial looking wheels?
