I really want purple pampas grass. Help!I'm having a hard time!

I live in southern Kentucky and I am having a hard time finding Purple Pompas Grass. Any ideas or general tips on how to care for pampas grass? I want plants, not seeds.

Where have you looked? Are you sure it pompous grass and not fountain grass?

  Yes Janet, it's pompas grass. It gets about 6 feet tall and the blades are like razors and it has the prettiest bloom on top. Looks like cotton and it comes in pink, white, off white, and purple. I can find all the colors ,but purple. If you find any plants on line, I'd appreciate it if you'd send me the site, so I could order it.

  I know what is it just wanted to make sure you did not have it mixed up. You will have to order that on-line .Research Monrovia nursery. They are located in California.

Be aware pampas will seed itself everywhere! Where I live it's considered an invasive plant (it can be really pretty tho).

I believe it is called 'pampas' grass (so you can google it accurately...not picking on your spelling!) :)

i too am looking for pampas grass but have only found seeds. I'm also wondering if it wiil survive our cold winters in Kentucky
