i'd replace it, i'm guessing the newer ones are more energy efficient.
At the age of the machine it would probably make sense to replace it.
They only good for about five years and any thing after that is luck. Your lucky so go get a new one and a lotto ticket. LOL
Check and see if you can buy a generic part. Might not be very expensive if you have someone handy that can install the part for free. We repair most of our appliances this way. My son just repaired his washing machine for $7.
I would say repair it if you can, the new ones don't seem to clean the dishes as well and the cylce of the wash takes way longer.
