slip cover comes to mind. if your back and seat cushions are removable, wrap them with fabric of your choice - just treat them as an over size gift. secure with safety pins
A common design trend these days is covering the seat cushions in a contrasting fabric, something different from the rest of the sofa; however, if a replacement cushion is only $65, it may be worth your while to simply replace it. It would probably cost you just as much to redo the seat cushions as to replace one.
Can you just reverse the cushion? Un zip and turn it over.
try taking it off and soaking it in water, peeling it off as it gets soft.
It looks like your fabric is pretty well lined up. I would sew it with a matching or contrasting thread and make other circles the same size with the same color thread and sew around them so it won't show and look like it was purchased that way.
From what I see, your couch looks solid and well built. If you like your couch & it's comfortable - I'd buy another cushion.
that looks like polyester or rayon fabric and you melted the paper into the threads. So, I would try remelting w an iron and some tweezers to pull the paper out. Use a towel or pressing cloth over the spot w the iron. Be careful. The. Spot will melt and can burn or catch fire if you are not careful. Don't do it w kids around. Good luck.
Or...if you have a wetvac..place a wet towel on top of it and leave it until the paper softens. Then wet vac it out. If theplastic has melted you are going to have to heat it up as above. Cut to replace only as a last resort.
Yes wrth it and can't believe you have waited. It's either that or recovering all 3 cushions with an opposite fabric so it looks like that's they way it should be but fabric for the three will be more that 65 dollars plus our have to sew it properly. Just pay even for it even if you have to cut into you budget until you make it up. Like not going out for dinner once. Good luck, sofa looks like in great shape .
Yes buy the cushion. The sofa looks to be worth it. Things happen. Live and learn. Life goes on.
That's the thing with fabrics made of polyester or plastic fabrics; even dryers can ruin the fabric. Unfortunately since you have already cut it, and the pattern doesn't match up 100%, I personally would get a new cushion. I bet it would cost more to get it professionally repaired.
You could try and trim the edges then use a brown felt pen and color in the white area.
SCAP/I CAN SEE! TRY SPRAYING THE PAPER WITH WATER, SOAK UP OVERSPRAY WITH TOWEL,,AND IT MAY COME OFF..IF NOT FIND A FABRIC THAT WORKS WITH THE OTHER FABRIC AND WRAP IT AROUND. PS CAREFuLY WORK PAPER OFF.
Is the cushion reversible? If you can flip the cushion so the damaged surface is on the underside of the cushion instead of on top, you may be able to get away with a careful patch so the damage doesn't grow larger. If not, than a replacement may be in order.
