Throwback Thursday: Do you have any Angel Trumpet Trees?

Bought this from a catalog that was mailed to me... in the spring I got 3 "index finger" sized sticks! was kind of disappointed .... planted them, and by June I had 3 trees trunks growing, and flowers!!! It is a poisonous plant, but just washing my hands after handling has been enough... this was supposed to be 3 colors, and I got all yellow, but am getting a new set of starts for another pot this summer, hopefully all 3 colors. This plant sits in mostly full sun (and gets to 100 degrees in summer), needs lots of water, but it just grows to it's little hearts content. After the first 2 years, I started taking all the leaves off from the pot to the top, and it's much showier!

I love it! I miss my angel trumpet from when we lived in AZ. I bet it would look beautiful with 3 different colors!

Be careful around children and pets these plants are poisonous if ingested. Gorgeous to look at though.

I live in Tacoma. I've loved these plants since the first time I saw one in a catalog. I never got one because I've always had a pet or two but being retired I feel I can better keep an eye on the one I have now. In what kind of light do you place yours when you bring it back out of the garage? I have a lot of shade in my yard.

Part shade is ok but more sun is better. They are heavy feeders so fertilize frequently. I have pink, yellow and white flowers and one pale pink with variegated leaves .

Love these plants. I have yellow, white. Peach or pink. Mine are in the sun and deem to do better than in shade.I also have a black one, it makes a seed pod.the other colors I just cut back and keep in a bucket of water in the winter and plant in spring after the last frost.

What do you mean by keeping it in a bucket of water? I'm in NC and we can have some really brutal cold days and nights (not all the time; last week it was 60+ degrees) so didn't think they would survive .
