Lightly sand, clean,Prime with KIlz or Zinser ,allow to dry ,paint, allow to dry and seal with a few coats of polycrylic.
I agree with Janet! Tape off what you don.t want painted with painters tape.
I also agree with Janet. Make sure you allow to dry completely between each coat of paint and acrylic.
I also agree with Janet. If you check the stores first, Kilz now has the ability to put pigment in it so whatever color you want, you can add that color to the Kilz and reduce the number of coats you have to use. If its something you're going to use a cleaner, ie 409 or fantastic, on, make sure you use an oil based Kilz. I learned the hard way. On a bedroom wall, I was cleaning the light switch plate and went off the plate to remove some finger prints on the wall and it took the paint off the wall. I wasn't a happy camper. Good luck! Hope this helped.
I just primered and painted! Turned out so cute. White and charcoal grey. I should have done it years ago
Well done!
