What do I do about the Trim around the doorway? Do I paint?

All of the trim in my house, doors, windows, room entries and baseboards are a cherry stain, very pretty because it matches the laminate flooring, but we are installing new paneled doors which are white and so the trim around them are white because the cherry wood around white doors didn't look good,, the old doors were those old brown, flat, no paneled doors, we haven't painted the walls yet, they are still white, but are going to paint them in possibly lighter shades of golds and nuetrals. But what do I do about the trim around the door? do I leave it white with all the existing trim cherry?, Do I paint all the other trim white?, I don't know what to do about this?

I would paint the trim to match the door trim. If you are painting the walls it will blend in. Leaving them cherry will break up the look and take the focus away from the beautiful doors.

I agree! Paint all the trim white for a clean and finished look!

Why not just upgrade original flat hollow doors with trim and stain them cherry it might be cheaper and solve your problems. If it were me I would use the trim that was there with these new doors. I really think that white is really going to stick out,and not in a good way, especially with how you plan on continuing rooms walls. Why didn't you order them to match? Your not saving money if you have to redo do them, because even time is money.

It sounds like you like how the cherry trim looks with the floors, so I agree with Eroque. Modify the doors to go with the trim or purchase new ones that look nice with it.

If you absolutely want new paneled doors and want to keep the cherry trim, then get pine doors from Lowe's, Home Depot, and stain them to match your trim. The paint department can help you or you could go to someplace like Benjamin Moore and ask for their opinion as to the stain - take a picture so they can see the trim stain and advise you.
