Help my aching garden!

I have a very bad back so I am looking for the perfect plant for my former veg. Garden. I want something with scent that spreads and will eventually cover the majority of the ten x ten space. I have several rose bushes and strawberry plants but I am tired of the endless weeding and need something attractive and scented for the space. Thanks. Must be low maintenance. Also I am in zone 6. Thnks.

Lemon thyme produces a dense mat and is carefree, plus it smells great.
No aroma but snow on the mountain is a beautiful ground cover that will fill up the space. I am also zone 6.

good choice! I have 48 lavender plants already in the front yard. Might just continue in the garden area. Good idea.
Plant perennials like milk weed to draw butterflies, the plant sweet smelling flowers that reseed themselves.
