I have never bought Spam in my life, but I do know people that do. Love the color, will ask the neighbors to save for me. Perfect for seedling plants. Thanks! ☺
Tooo funny--I haven't had SPAM in 40 years and now I'm tempted. I had a great recipe somewhere for SPAM with pineapple hmmmmm Memory Lane
I am well known for my famous potato salad. It takes boiled potatoes, diced onions and celery, mayonnaise & sour cream (equal halves), and small diced/fried spam (crispy). Can't begin to tell you how many compliments I've received, and people are always amazed that the little crispy bits, that add so much too it, are spam.
Such a good point! I love discovering new uses for the simplest household items from Hometalkers. Thanks!
Awesome way to have fresh herbs in your own kitchen. This would also make a great gift to any mom or grandma either with herbs or a little flower or succulent plant.
I gave the recipe in my original post. Just boil the potatoes and add the ingredients I posted. I really don't measure anything, I just add the ingredients to taste. I think the "zing" factor is the half-and-half mayo/sour cream dressing and the crispy diced spam. Trust your instincts and taste. Start small. If you like more of something, you can always add more. Boiled potatoes are like sponges. You may have to add more dressing after it's been refrigerated several hours. I was given this recipe many years ago by a friend, and I've never found a potatoe salad to beat it (and I'm 75).
Wow, actually now that Robert has a new gadget in his semi, he's been taking spam and making spamwiches with cheese (mmm!). I'll have to remind him to save the containers to add to my "stuff"😄.
Im gonna have to try the tater salad, that'll get me 1!!!
spam has been given a bad rap, it's no worse than bacon so go for it and plant your flowers. It's Hawaii's favorite meat.
I Love Spam. I slice it up and lightly fry it.I have been using my spam containers for some time now. In my bathroom I use them to hold my toothbrush and toothpaste and floss so all I have to do it grab it and do my thing. I have one for hair do dads. I also have several I use when I am doing sewing projects., For putting my thread, bobbin, buttons, and color of yarn I am also going to use for each towel. One for each. I call it may grab and use tray. I do not like tater salad but my family does I am going to try it.
Thank you very much
I used to grind it up with cheese and onion, add a little mustard and pickle relish for a sandwich spread. I would put the spread on hamburger buns, wrap with foil and then bake for about 15 minutes in the oven. I even froze them and when the kids came in from school( hungrey teen boys) they would pop them in the toaster over , bake and enjoy. Can even heat in Microwave if you rewrap in plastic wrap or paper towel. Good, hot , melted cheesy, sandwich.
sound good to me . .
Oh my it all sounds 😋
