Do coffee grounds buried in the soil help hydrangeas to become blue?

just be careful to not fertilize as well, too much can be harmful

my father used to say that if you buried different kinds of metal near the bushes, they would turn different colors, depending on the metal itself. Also go to a farm supply store and buy blueberry food. It's the same stuff that's used to make the hydragias blue.

You could put the coffee grounds, etc., only on one side so you can have both colors or so I've read.

I raked up needles from my white pine tree one fall, to scatter around my hydrangea bush; the next year I had ALL shades of pinks and blues in that bush! Apparently I didn't get them as evenly distributed as I thought but it was beautiful! We had to move that bush a year later to make way for an addition to our house and it didn't survive the transplant. I haven't had much luck with hydrangeas since but my guys surprised me with two new shrubs two years ago that are still hanging on, so maybe this year there will finally be lots of blooms, again! I never give up hope of having beautiful blue blossoms in my yard.
