there is a stainless steel scratch pad that I buy 4 for around $8.00 they are not at all like the dollar store ones. You just wipe down the wires and the steel grates are clean. It is amazing. you put them in the dishwasher when your finished. I have the same one for 8 years. Barely have to scrub burnt pots or pans. I gave my daughters and daughter in laws one on their presents instead of a bow.

MULTI-PRO INC www.multi-pro.ca the head office is in Montreal, Canada.

I don't sell this but I buy a lot of their stuff because I hate having to clean the really hard stuff.

I place racks all in one a garbage bag. Spray with oven cleaner. Let sit for 2 hrs or over night. After 2 hours take to the tub with a towel in the bottom so you don't mark up the tub and scrub and rinse. If you leave them over night and it's nice outside you can just use the garden hose and rinse off well, you may have to scrub a little. Make sure to spray both sides of the racks and tie the bag the best you can.

After I clean the oven with oven cleaner sometimes it leaves a little white film. Vinegar and water will make for easy cleaning up of that and give it an extra sparkle.

Happy cleaning. It's a lot of work but so rewarding.

Even easier....place the racks in a garbage bag, put them somewhere, preferably outdoors, where they can lay down. Then place a container with 1/4 cup ammonia in the bag, make sure it doesn't spill, seal the bag and let sit overnight. In the morning spray them off and they are good as new.

For standard cleaning, use a soapy sponge and hot water to wipe the racks. For stubborn messes, soak oven racks in hot water, dish soap, and a couple scoops of baking soda. Let the racks soak in this mixture for 15 to 30 minutes before scrubbing clean with a soft sponge.
