You can get a bunch of pallet wood pieces to make signs along the road like these and then for the big sign with the name of your family you can nail together a couple of 1 x 4s to a post and write "Family Reunion".
Hi Shirley, Liz here from SimpleDecoratingTips.com. A couple of summers ago I made this sign, it marks the different towns of our family members and distance to each of their towns from our cottage in Maine. simpledecoratingtips.com/2015/07/13/directional-arrows-sign/
Thank you
You could buy inexpensive thin wooden letters for the message you want to display, painting them in bright color(s) that contrast with the pallet. I'd leave the pallet as is on one side but remove some or all the boards on the other side, just to lighten it. Prop against a tree or post, or make it so it's propped up with wood legs
A 4x8 sheet of plywood and a pack of stencils. Or you could use a sheet and write on it. Keep your eyes open for old pull down projector screen at yard sales on Craigslist. That would make an amazing sign.
