The most important thing I learned is that cilantro likes shade.
Thanks for that. I know it gets lots of seeds, do they regerminate themselves or do I need to dry them?
What a great project to take on! I love growing herbs! This Hometalker has some pretty good tips about growing cilantro. Protect your cilantro from too much heat and it should grow, no problem. You can keep cutting cilantro and have it grow back for a good while. Good luck! http://www.hometalk.com/diy/grow/plants/secret-to-cilantro-1745819...>
Secret to Cilantro
Cilantro is an herb, you can grow them in the house. I lived in Merida Yucatan, and my mother in law would take some from her yard when it was getting colder, and planted them in an ordinary pot, and put them in the kitchen near the light, and they did just fine. Then when spring time came, she would take some of the Cilantro and replant them outdoors, and because she thought they had a good smell, go figure, she would keep the rest in the house. Cilantro is pungent, and like parsley can keep some insects away. Her experience, as I never saw a bug in her garden.
Just keep trimming it as if to use. Keep it out of hot sun.
