    Thank you William,problem I do not like formica and want to jazz it up a bit,however you cannot use sandpaper will not adhere to it.Is there special paint I can use please?

      I have used Kilz oil based primer on countertops first and paint and sealers have taken nicely.

    Hi Janet do not like formica,smooth surface,will not take sanding,want to jazz it up a bit,looking for ideas?Thank you for your reply. Mary

    I sanded mine then painted with sealing primer and then painted. Actually I used the little acrylic craft paints to make a faux granite look on counter tops, but you should be able to paint. I also, bought Annie Sloan chalk paint and painted a formica/laminate top of a old cabinet. I wish I had pictures on me I would post. Look up on Youtube video.. How to paint laminate/formica, there are lots of them.
