Have you thought of painting a scene on the walls? Or, if that seems a little daunting, how about a border (maybe look at wall paper borders for ideas)? The border wouldn't be a huge undertaking and it would break up all the white.
I am a bit confused-are you referring to covering the floor or the walls? If the floors, you can cover with a laminate flooring which come in tile and wood flooring looks. You put down a foam liner first and then the laminate over the top.
Have you considered stenciling a design on some of the tiles?

Vinyl flooring can be installed directly over ceramic and porcelain tile flooring if the grout lines are very thin. Cracked or missing tiles should be fixed or filled in. Wide seams between the tiles will likely create slight depressions in the vinyl flooring

You could stencil the tiles so the white is just the background and the stencil adds the color and pattern.
