We saved up all of the k-cups we used here at Hometalk for the past two weeks... Needless to say had a lot! We made a cute Kate Spade inspired light strand to hang on our Facebook Live set! We colored ours with gold polka dots but you can use any colors you want!
Start by collecting used K-cups!
Peel off the top foil lid
Dump out the remaining coffee grounds
Peel out the filter that is attached to the inside of the K-cup
Rinse out the cup!
Using a hammer and a nail, hammer a hole in the bottom of the cup
CAREFULLY use a knife and twist a hole big enough to for the light to pop through
After you've decorated the cups, pop them on to the light strand!
Look how cute!
We wrote "Hello Spring" on ours because we are so ready for spring here in NYC! What would you write on yours?!
Enjoyed the project?

Have a question about this project?
I know it's off base, but where did you get those pretty yellow bowls??
Just wondering if there is a concern about the heat off the lights melting the plastic etc. any comment on this? Also I noticed you used white marker on the coffe cups. Does the light shine through the white??? Tks
