Does anyone living in zone 9-10 have potted geraniums? How do you manage the care, repotting, pruning etc.

Are these new or old geraniums?

They are 'old' been in pots 3+ years, some were given to me. They are getting a little woody. Various kinds, trailing, upright, scented etc.

LOL ... don't you just love those zones! My climate is cool and coastal.... 80 degrees is a hot day... they classify as a 9 but more like a 10. Anyway I am confused about what I am reading as far as repotting and pruning. Also some say fertilize a lot and others not so much.

Please realize that zone maps have changed for the future. For the trailing geraniums which I am going to assume they are the ivy type,re-pot in fresh soil, and begin to trim back what appears to be leggy, water and keep in the sun. Wait for about two weeks for them to redover from the transplant and then in lieu of watering use a water soluable fertilizer. Mix one scoop to a gallon of water(it should be pale blue)Give the sunshine and warmth to do the rest. As far as regular geraniums, again re-pot into the next size and snip the stems to where you think the leggy issue started. Repeat the same process as the trailing geraniums. This is very common with older plants. Regular feeding and maintenance will help in the recover. Another tip geraniums do not like to be wet, just moist. Water in the early am before the full sun heats up.
