How do you all kill your gophers ?

Have an empty grassy lot next to me and I have scared, eliminated most of the 500 holes down to two new ones. It takes so much of my time.

    My dad had the same problem. He could not kill them fast enough. Then he started making small windmills with an off centered blades. Those things rattled something awful when the wind blew. Soon no gophers. They hated the vibrations or the sound. Never had a problem again.

    Wish I could try that. I think there are tools one can purchase that make vibes.

    Pour some gas, kerosene or lighter fluid in the holes, the fumes will spread into the burrow. Toss a match. They are dead.

    . Thats one I havent tried. Poured about 3 gallons of donated bug spray down some holes; this kept them away for about 6 weeks. Have used smoke bombs. Just about everything but gas

    It is illegal in fl to kill them in fact if they are building -say a mall and ding gopher holes they have to stop building and relocate ALL the turtles! BIG FINE!!

    They don't like moth ball in there little tunnels either,

    but caution with chickens and pets.

    Wind mills work best !

  • If you or if you know anyone who has snakes, keep the skin when they shed and place a good long piece in each in hole. They won't be back. Tried and true!
