It's rather hard to make suggestions, not knowing your decor. If you can use it a a table. I would suggest covering the glass w/ "marble" contact paper. It's very real looking. Paint the wood in a pale grey, picked out from the "marble" or paint it white. Of course, you could also cover the glass with anything or your choice and coordinate the paint with it. If you want to use it as a dog bed, just put a complimentary fitted cushion in the bottom, have plywood cut to fit 5 matching pieces, paint them to match table, insert into 5 sections of the table,(nailing each to the wood apron to secure) and you have dog bed with entry on 6th side.
I would remove the glass and then sand down then entire piece bringing it to its natural wood (or as close to it as you can). And then I would put slats of wood where the glass once was giving it a new surface. Next it would be time to either paint or stain, whichever you liked most, if you paint~maybe could use one color one the two surfaces and one in the rest of the table.
I'd stain it a dark color..... then make an aquarium inside.... with puck lights underneath it all!!!! WIll be a masterpiece!
I've seen this made into a dog bednon Pinterest. You should search for it!
I have an old end table very similar to this, I'm going to paint it white and put on my front porch this spring😀. Good luck with your project .

tubes of sealant are not pricey, and you can get glass cut at hardware store.

clean all the dust off of it!!!
at Home Depot, Lowe's & Walmart there are great wood stains!.... then find an aquarium shaped like the table that will fit inside. Hopefully the aquarium will have lights inside! Keep me posted! ;)
Pick your six favorite vacation pictures or memories and install in openings with Command Hooks or tape easily purchased at Home Depot. Inside arrange souvenirs from those memories on top of a bottom plate attached to the bottom of the top cross members. Leave it as is or stain lighter shade if you want to do the work.
Thank you!! I love the pic idea!!!
Yes. a definite option!
I love the table period!!! I love the style and the nice wood. Throw a nice doily over the glass........I have this same shape, an octagon. It is oak and I will stain it. I like the chalk paints, which I have used, but I like my stain grains, with good woods.
