I have 6 panels of orange and white striped curtains on my porch. The orange no longer goes with the decor. Can you paint over the orange or should I just sell these and look for new curtains?

Yes! You sure can! Michaels, has some wonderful fabric paints, you could also use chalkboard paint. Please post pictures if you redo these curtains!

In my opinion how old are they? Is it worth spending the money on paint? Of course they are paintable ,however is it worth you time and money for the paint or find new curtains?

I think you might be right. It seems like a lot of effort. Been looking around and I'll probably sell these and buy some inexpensive new ones.

Go for it! Sounds like an awesome spring project!

IF you are going to do this, look for a good acrylic paint made for the fabric of your curtains; canvas or cotton or nylon; you might even be able to use a good quality outdoor enamel paint; do keep in mind that paint will stiffen the fibers of the curtains, so don't forget that; this sounds like a project I would try myself!

Oh, and stretch your curtains; each section as you paint it, nice and flat for each section; a piece of plywood and some clamps will help with that...because sometimes, when paint dries, it might make he material 'wavy' or 'puckery"...
