The front of our house doesn't get a lot of sun. I'd like to plant something pretty that can tolerate shade. Something besides a rhododendron .
Thanks in advance!

I am in love with Mountain Laurel. The flower is gorgeous and unique. Mine took a few years to really establish. Climbing hydrangea is another winner.

Climbing hydrangea, I'll have to check that out - sounds pretty!

If you're looking for a bush, I'd go with hydrangeas. Hostas up north are absolutely gorgeous and there's SO many varieties.. I so wish I could grow hydrangeas and hostas here in Texas the way I could in Tennessee!

Thank you, Bridget! We have very large hostas in our driveway. I like the idea of the hydrangeas!

It's great. A little slow the first two years and then really takes off. Buy the largest one you can.

My front yard used to be full sun, and I loved lots and lots of geraniums every year. Now it is full shade, and I've had great success with Hostas and impatien. This year I'm adding Phlox. I think Caladium is good too - so I'm going to try them. After reading comments here aim going to look for Mukdenia, which I've never heard of. I didn't know Sedum grew in shade. I have it in full sun in the back of my house. I think I'll try hydrangea too.
