Well, tongue in cheek, a hair clipper? No more hair..... Sorry, I just couldn't help myself. I have two cats that shed like crazy and have installed dark wood flooring. Crazy making environment. Other than swiping the floor two to three times a day I don't think there is a solution. If anyone out there knows of one, please share.
There are 6 dogs and 6 cats going through my house daily. No way to avoid hair and fur! Since I live alone in a teeny tiny house, it is easier for me. I have throws on the living room furniture. I also vacuum every day and swiffer the bathrooms and kitchen every night before bed.
Unfortunately I think that part of being a dog lover and owner comes with the dog hair that you can never seem to get rid of. I try regularly brushing my dog's hair but that will only make the issue a fraction better. I try keeping my pup to only a couple of rooms in the house. And then it's just taking care to regularly mop and clean.
The best solution is grooming your pets often, preferably outside. Good grooming habits will take off most of that loose hair before it gets a chance to fall off and make this extra work for you.
Get a small scrub brush. Sink size or cool nail brush. Works great on hairy furniture.
I lived with two big dogs who shed. When doing laundry i put in Arm and Hammerhammeret hair releasdep
Yes I do to, even on their pet beds
Roomba is a lifesaver! Sand, cat hair, dog hair are picked up daily without me having to do it!
After I do an initial all over scrub and clean, I let Roomba do the daily pickup.
I absolutely LOVE my beagle. Even though she sheds a lot, 7 days a week, all year. Here's A GREAT suggestion for cleaning her bed. MissE sleeps on a small collection of blankets. Before laundering them, I put them through the clothes dryer w/NO heat. I was shocked to discover the amount of fur after half an hour. This is fur than didn't coat my washer.
