How do you install repurposed drawers into shelves?

There are ton of things we can do with drawers. I've turned two of them into pet beds and I also made two into shelves for the cottage. (Sorry, but I don't have pics of those yet)
I have seen many posts and how-to instructions on what to do to turn them into shelves, but never have I seen anyone post about how to actually install the darn things! My husband and I had to brainstorm and he came up with a solution, but it wasn't obvious.

The problem we had, was that these two drawers had a front that was larger than the base. I could have sawed it down so the backside that would be against the wall would be flat, but I don't have a table saw at the cottage and it would have been a real mess to do it by hand. Hubby added a spacer to the top, which made the whole thing level with the wall, flat, and he then used L brackets to hook them onto the wall.
I've seen people screw the drawer right into wall studs or anchors, by drilling from the inside of the drawer, which is the easiest solution, but then you're left with a visible screw head.

It shouldn't be this hard! What are some ways any of you have installed repurposed drawers or hard to fit, uneven objects onto walls? Ideas, please! Thank you. :)

Hey you guys found a really good way to work out the problem of an uneven drawer on the front.

I once attached drawers as shelves but they laid flat against the walls and had a nice solid base. I knew it wasn't going to hold a lot of weight so I used flush mount hardware, look it up it's a great solution for hiding screws.

We hung those last two drawers at the cottage and only return in a few weeks, so I'll post pics then. Thank you, Shawna! :)
