We have squirrels in the attic. Moth balls don't help. HELP!!!

Moth balls got rid of some but exterminators r expensive. I can block hole but they will die in attic causing smell. Any other solutions would b appreciated!!

Try closing up the hole when they are out during the day hunting for food. Then you shouldn't have a smell issue. Good luck!
Do you know someone who has a cat? Used cat litter near where they come in has worked for me in the past.
ask an exterminator for advice, or even to fix the problem. Often they know the right time of the year and hour of the day when you can block the opening causing minimal, if any, deaths.
They're there all day long! There are so many in and out of attic!
Call the local animal rescue and they will trap and relocate! In my area we have 2 (The wildlife center of Venice and Peace River Wildlife Center.) Or your county animal services but they are less humane.
When I was doing some remodel on the house we bought. I replaced the ceiling in the bathroom. There was a dead I thought rat in the attic. It was a squirrel. I also found rat traps all over the attic. I guess that is how the original owner got rid of his squirrel problem.

Use hardware cloth or metal flashing to block the hole. If you just replace the wood, they will chew through again. They like to go back the the same places. We just waited till they were out during the day and then blocked the hole. A friend of mine who keeps bees, went up in his attic with his smoker and smoked them out and then blocked the hole. You can also use a have-a-heart trap baited with peanut butter.

Three winters ago, a large family of raccoons found a tiny hole in the aluminum, enlarged it and moved into my attic. I heard the odd noise but we had a cold Winter that year and I thought it was the usual houseexpansion/contraction due to extreme temperatures. Therefore, they went undetected until the Spring when it got too hot and they came out on the roof for some air. I had to call a service to come in, remove them, all, replace all the dirty (and urine soaked) insulation. It was a lot of work and a huge expense but my house insurance covered every penny! Check with your insurance carrier if you find any damage after the squirrels are gone. Unfortunately, some insurance companies will not cover squirrel damage as they are considered rodents while raccoons are not. Good luck with the removal.
