How do I paint kitchen cabinets?

To make them look, shiny and professional. My kitchen is little. Don't have many cabinets,,I think it will bring light into the room and make the kitchen look bigger...

I redid the vanity and cabinets in our bathroom. I used INSL-X Cabinet Coat. It is easy to apply and the cabinets turned out like I just bought new ones. I sanded them down and used the small rollers to paint them. A brush for the tight places. It is satin white finish. Every one loves them. I ordered it from Home Depot. I see Lowes also has it.
