How should I finish up this project?

I love going to Michael's and trying to do a project using ONLY supplies from the Clearance section. Today I found a nice set of Washi tape and a pallet heart. I had Mod Lodge, so I put the Washi tape in stripes on the pallet and Mod Podged it in place. Came out cute, no? My question is: what should I put in the center of it? I feel like it needs something else!

I like the lace idea, also! I'm thinking maybe a fabric heart also

The lace to soften the edges is great. I would use a paint pen to write a child's name for a room sign...or to identify a room (water closet)...to label an item on a buffet - cover it with laminate so that it could be written on with dry erase marker...

I think it is pretty the way it looks now. Nice job.

crisscross ribbon across the face of it at about a 45 degree angle. hot glue the ends on the back and secure the intersections on the front with a button or brad. You have a mini French reminder board for post it notes or invitations, ie small notes or concert tickets in a prominent place until you need them. Look up French bulletin board to see what I'm talking about. It can go in any room....depending on the messages you need to remember.

"Raised lettering like "LOVE" or "XOXO"

Cording across would look good in multiple layers and colors

Anything to pop it and three dimensional does the trick

What about pictures of your lovely kids in the middle and then accent the pictures edge with either rick rack ribbon, or rhinestones?

You could also pick a solid blue complimenting acrylic paint and have one of your kids put their hand print in the paint and then on the heart (hand stamp) and put their name on it.

I would make a denim flower for the middle of the blue stripped heart. You could make a denim flower and add it or applique one on.

I like the smaller heart idea, maybe in a solid coordinating color would be cute.

What about a contrasting bow w/a few white daisies tucked behind the bow. You are only limited by your imagination. Happy creating!

Writing a quote in black sharpie would be a great idea! Or even adding a picture in the center :) Can't wait to see what you come up with!

You could put a picture of a loved one in the middle of it. Or, as previous "hometalkers" recommended, you could add some "bling"

It did come out cute! When I first saw it, I could envision a flower right in the center of the heart. But, now... I think I would put it on the side/corner of the heart, and something special to you in the middle. Either a photo, a W or handprint. All of these have been terrific ideas. Maybe you can combine a few.
