Ladybugs, soapy water, chemicals, professional spraying - nothing helps! Does anyone have a silver bullet to diminish the little devils? They get so bad we can't use the yard.

Plant regular chives & garlic chives around all roses and other plants that are infested. The aphids will leave the plants and, as long as the chives are allowed to grown, the aphids will not return. Has worked for me for 20+ years. A good side benefit of this: Fresh chives to use in the kitchen all spring, summer, and fall!

When I lived in VA there was an infestation. We were told to use Cleaning Vinegar...I part to 2 parts water. The vinegar smell dissipates immediately. The pesky creatures hate it....it got so bad we could not see out our windows! The screens were covered with them! Yucks & Yikes! The Cleaning Vinegar was the answer.
