Does anyone know how to Mod Podge a t-shirt to a stretched canvas?

Do you want to do the whole shirt, or just a piece of it? I actually just did this for a friend who got married, and the way we did it was that we cut out the piece of the shirt we wanted, ironed it, put Mod Podge on the back of it, pressed it down flat on the canvas and left some heavy books on it for a few hours until it dried. Then we did a few layers of Mod Podge on top.
