Honestly I would rent a carpet cleaner.
Sounds crazy, but I have removed some carpet stains with WD40! Put it on, leave it for a few, scrub with some kind of brush, rinse with warm water and dry.
I was looking for a way to get red jello stains out of off white/very light beige-ish colored carpet. They are pretty surface. I've got oxy clean but that doesn't always work and can bleach your carpet. I've had a few people tell me AWESOME brand cleaner from the dollar store greys rid of a lot of different stains including pet stains so I'm gonna try it on my jello lol.
Wet a paper towel, but not soaking with some club soda. Fold it into a square and wet the spots. Wet them enough so that the jello is wet again. Press, press, press. The red will come up on the paper towel. Change paper towel as needed. It usually works for me with red wine. Remember, don't rub, just press.
A good quality professional steam cleaner company should be able to get rid of these stains for you. They got rid of cat poo off a white carpet we were renting before we left and had to pass an inspection and honestly it came up like new, I was amazed. The man said he had chemicals to remove all sorts of dried in stains and had pretty much seen them all, so do your research and ggo for the best quality company you can afford, get a quote and ask if they can get the stains out before committing to the service.
I live I need Melbourne Victoria, Australia, but the cleaners I use here always get the stains out for me, but you must use steam cleaners not dry , or shampoo cleaners.
good luck, but remember do not commit until you can see or at least know, they can do the job the way you want it done 😉
I use a product called Spot Shot. I have treated blood, red wine, pet, and old coffee stains with great success!
Ok, let me know if it works!
I have been using 3% hydrogen peroxide with success. Have a new puppy so it has been tested.
I used Folex to get spaghetti sauce out of brand new carpet, years ago, and still use it.
I've also used Awesome (from the Dollar Tree. Walmart also carries it now) to remove ink stains, gum, grass stains, food stains (under the dining table), and greasy oily stains with great success, from both carpet and clothing. Even now, with kids and grandkids no longer living with me, I still use both Folex and Awesome. Lately, I have been using Awesome in my laundry. I add it to the washer at the beginning of each load. It seems to aid the liquid detergent. My hubby is forever forgetting to tell me about small stains on his clothes, until I am pulling them from the dryer, and so far so good, all stains came out.
I wish you all the best in your stain removals.
Make a paste with baking soda, water and white vinegar. Leave on for an hour so and then rinse.
I,too have had much success with Hydrogen Peroxide to remove many stains, blouses, carpet, ect; and no it did not bleach out the stains . Happy cleaning😊
I use peroxide and the stains are gone! Just attach a sprayer to the bottle, point and spray!! Love it!!❤
pawTree Oxy Shot and Urin Eliminator for the pet stains. Works so great! Can only be bought on line. Go to: www.pawTree.com/4petHealth
I've had great success with peroxide as well. It works well on most stains and sometimes I let the sun help the peroxide a little.
I rented a shampooing machine from lowes. I used blue dawn dish soap, baking soda and 1 bottle of hydrogen peroxide for each section. I was totally blown away at how this filthy carpet came up fairly well. Eventually I'm going to have it ripped out cuz I have too many pets wow what a difference
I haven't tried peroxide yet but I certainly will now..my mother spilled Gatorade on the beige carpet and I've tried awesome, spot remover, folex dang near everything. The awesome at the dollar tore is REALLY good for som many thing. It cut the grease in my filter over the stove with one applicatio..,I usually have 5 or 6 bottles in the house at all times.
That's right!
For old stains , Folex. If there are still odors, use an enzyme based cleaner such as Nok out to truly remove the scent so the animals can't smell it and continue going back to the same spot.
Years ago my father-in-law told me to use windex on carpet stains. We had a cleaning day at church and I noticed these terrible carpet stains at the entrance of the church, probably there for many years. I used the windex and removed all those old stains. Have used it since with success.
These are some great suggestions! How about ink on a microfiber couch? My daughter's friend decided to bring over a bottle of ink that got knocked over and spilled twice, once on the sofa and once on the carpet. So not just a little spot or mark, but rather large spills. :(
Rubbing alcohol & blot, don't rub. I had the same issue & it worked. I had to repeat the process several times.
have you tried baking soda ,2tsp 1 cup warm water and a brush?
I personally use Hydrogen Peroxide but I don't have very old stains. I saw this post from a lady that had. Wet old stains and was able to remove them http://www.channel3000.com/lifestyle/vinegar-baking-soda-mixture-removes-3-year-old-carpet-stain/162927645
I use/love Carbona Pet Stain Remover. I had two 20 yr old Maltese who were slightly forgetful. This
product takes stains and odors out of carpet and upholstery beautifully!!!
Shout Laundry Stain Remover Spray from grocery store. Spray it on and rub with a cold wet blue sponge with rougher blue side on sponge. Use whichever side works. Hot water sets stains so only use cold water. Spray again until you get it all out. Shout has a very nice scent, also. I swear by Shout for stains.
ever thought of using toilet bowl cleaner I got hot chocolot stains out of a freinds carpet she spilled it and instead of cleaning it up right away let it dry into the carpet we used liquid toilet bowl cleaner!
I was a maid in a fancy shmacy apt comples, and while getting ready to clean the sliding door track I noticed rust on the bottom of the drapes I cleaned them up with toilet bowlcleaner and the boss was thrilled withe results, couldn't believe how I did it and saved them thousands of dollars for replacing them!
To the lady whose husband uses the product to take off her blouse, tell her it works pretty well on the rug too. LOL.
Hahaha LOL✔️
Thanks for all the tips everyone!
Spot Shot, blue and orange can, look in walmart~told a co worker about it, after her husband dropped pizza on the rug(GREASE!!). She hugged me the next time I saw her!!!
You can buy it at most grocery stores with the other carpet cleaners. Also Wal-Mart and Target.
My Husband spilt an entire jar of coconut oil on our light beige carpet, we have use the carpet machine multiple times yet the stain comes right back!! Any ideas for this as it's a rather large stain and of course right in the walkway in our bedroom ( on my side). Help😳
Try mixing dawn dish soap, lemon juice, and baking soda. Will not bleach out your carpet, but I use this on my rugs, beige carpet, and clothes stains, it works great for me!
I used a tip I found just this weekend and I was blown away how well it worked.Mix ammonia and hot water in equal amounts in a spray bottle. Spray stain and rub in a little with you fingers.Take a light colored towel and place over stain. Then use your iron on high steam setting and iron back and forth over stain area. The stain lifted right out of the carpet into the towel. You could use any color towel but the light or white color allows you to see the process happen.I bought two large white towels at Walmart,2 dollars each. Some of the stains required a second application and one stain required a 3rd.I am amazed how well it worked.
We use a product called Folex. Amazing. Gave name to a friend Removed 15 yr old stain.. one of kids threw up. Sell at Home Depot
A 50/50 mix of hydrogen peroxide and warm water. Spray it on, wait 5 to 10 minutes, wipe with dry rag. Repeat if necessary. (I've used this to remove blood, coffee, spaghetti sauce, and much more.) Best of luck.
Coffee drop stains on cream carpet. How. Grrr
Folex. Found at Home Hardware. I have used it many times.
Thank you everyone
I used pure Oxiclean my new rental property carpet which someone had brought a motorcycle into the living room and it leaked oil. I mixed a strong solution of oxiclean in a squirt bottle, applied to stain them used a scrub brush and wa-la no stains. The spot came out lighter than the rest of the carpet, so I used same solution to steam clean the whole carpet! Turned out beautiful!!!
Hire a professional. They know the best ways to remove stains.
Steam Clean or Professionals
If you don't know what the stain is made of, create an all-purpose cleaner by mixing equal amounts of water and vinegar and a bit of dish soap. Next, sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda on the stain and spray the mixture on the baking soda. Wait for it to dry, and then vacuum.
Just plain 3% hydrogen peroxide, try it on an area that is not noticeable first for colorfastness.
