Bleeding hearts and forget-me-nots are some of my favorite perennials that will survive the shade!
Astilbe,Ligularia,bleeding hearts,coral bells,hosta,
Check to see of your soil is kind of wet or dry---astilbe wants moisture as do a few others--check the labels---hostas do great and there are so many varieties and different shades of green and white in them---you can often get them for free if someone needs to divide their plants. I always pop in a few impatiens to give pops of color but they are annuals.
Hostas. There are many varieties.
