I have a porch i would like to remove the railing but i cant get the middle section out. It is screwed and also nailed in to the pole. The screws look to be stript and the nails are deep in the wood with paint over both the nail and screw. It is also caulked to the pole. I thought maybe if i cut the caulking it would losen but nope. I thought about jig sawing down the side of the pole to cut the nails and screws. I am wanting to save the railing. Any ideas on what to do?

You can use a jigsaw or sawzall with a metal cutting blade to cut through the nails and screws along the post.

you'll likely ruin a jigsaw trying to cut through the nails & screws. The sawzall is your best bet, but be prepared to do some repair on the post if you're keeping it.
