I think that if you find a really light pink and then accent it with some cream colored whites, your room will feel open and bright. You can use darker pink pillows to add some bright color as well. Here's a picture for inspiration. Have fun with whatever you do!!
I love pink it is my favourite colour. Have you considered a light creamy pink for the walls and using the darker pink in the curtains and room dressings, that way if anything looks out of place or you can just change the dressings or the walls without too much trouble. I must say I do love the image above.
You can get contrasting paint chip samples and tape them up on your wall side by side. Look at them in different light. Your accent wall can be anything from wide vertical stripes to a half wall of color (think wainscotting), just to mix it up a little. The inspiration photo is lovely ... look at lots of photos for ideas and have fun, whatever you decide!
Thank you guys for everything that you have told me I will use what you guys have said and use it in my room . And thank you Shoshana for the picture . Thank you guys !!!
You have great suggestions here! Go for it! My sister-in-Law LOVES pink. They have an old house and the main bathroom is pink, and I mean PINK! Think pepto bismol and raspberry mixed together - that is what is on the walls with white trim. Everything in that room is some shade of pink. It certainly is a conversation piece. Yes, my brother painted it for her that color, he could care less. He figures happy wife, happy life! Thy do have another full bathroom that my brother decorated that has an ecelectic vibe, and a neutral powder room. So, I say if you like it, it works. Geneieve Gorder did a pink studio apartment in NYC that turned out AWESOME - and if I did pink that is what I would do. Let me see if I can find a link for you.
I found it! But I do not know how to link . . . Can someone please teach me?
Anyway, it is on HGTV, show called Dear Genevieve, season 4, episode 6. There is a 3:58 video so you can see the "vintage" pinks she used . . . Take a look see, might be just the right balance you are looking for. Good luck and have fun!
Thanks . When I posted this I did not expect to get this many comments this quick at all so thanks!!!
I used a color called Antique rose for my hallway and it doesn't feel baby girl at all. Blush (pink) is the new neutral this spring.
