Sink a plate or bowl level with the soil. Pour in some beer in the bowl. The slugs are attracted to the yeast. They drink their fill and die.

I've heard that crushed eggshells work. There are also products to purchase which kill the slugs, and don't harm pets. I believe one such product is called Sluggo. You can find it in home improvement stores.

Crushed eggs are effective- slugs don't like rolling over them because the sharp edges cut them.

we moved into a new house and I have a problem with slugs as well and the beer and eggshells did not work. I did find out that they love mushrooms. so every night before dinner I put one or two mushrooms near a slug trail and go out last thing at night, pick up the slugs with chopsticks and drop them in a glass of salty water. The big secret is to create a garden with balance so that the natural slug predators keep the slugs under control. If you are using pesticides to kill other things, you will always have a problem with slugs.

Put a small container at ground level & fill with beer. I was surprised this worked but it did, & no harm to plants or animals.

Cruel, but if you put salt on them, it kills them.

    Corry's

15 ft. Slug and Snail Copper Tape

I had great success last year by using Corry's Copper Tape around all my planters. It attaches easily and it stayed on.

I had success with a saucer of beer. Good luck and stay green in your garden.
