How to keep a stump from sprouting after it was cut to the ground?

Drill holes in the stump and pour rock salt into it.
Janet beat me to the main solution. You can also pour drain cleaner into the holes.
I've also put holes in the stump and put Epson salt in it
There us a product called 'stump out'..have seen it at garden supply/farm stores..maybe you can find on line
