You can remove the seat and add a 2 x 4 to make it a bit higher, then replace the seat. There's actually a bunch of good ideas in a similar discussion over here http://www.hometalk.com/diy/repair/furniture/q-any-idea-how-to-make-these-bar-stools-taller-thanks-10804132
Any idea how to make these bar stools taller? Thanks!
That's what I was going to say too :), especially if the bar stools are swivel. If the legs attach directly into the seat bottom without anything else to keep them together, then I would say take them off anyway and make a paper template of the bottom of the seat. Use that to make a 2" platform for the legs to go into which would separate the legs from the seat. In order from top to bottom, the seat on top then the platform if needed, (even add a swivel from the hardware store if you don't have any, and that may take up 2") then on the bottom the legs of course. Do this to all the bar stools so the look the same. Can even recover seats while apart. New stuffing, fabric, staple gun, done!
Definitely need to be added to the seat area. Without pics it is all speculation.
Could you had furniture legs/feet, I'm thinking small bun feet???
I also like the idea of building the seat up.
