How annoying! I use pepper flakes to keep squirrels away. Just sprinkle some around the pots to prevent them from causing trouble. Good luck!
And the pepper flakes don't bother the birds. So you can even put in bird feeders. I plant dahlia bulbs which look like small bananas and sprinkle the flakes all over planted area. Before that, the squirrels were damaging my bulbs!!
Sprinkle cayenne pepper or blood meal around them.
chicken wire pieces and plant wood skewers
I use the dried blood. It also keeps the bunnies away!
I could not believe it when I saw them eating my little red tomatoes. They eat the inside and then discard it. So I placed the pepper flakes and I had this long thing I hang to try to keep the deer away. It is long and you hang it nearby and it moves with the slightest breeze. I had gotten it in the dollar store years ago and it really works. Seems the movement scares them and all animals trying to eat my veggies.
