Start by cleaning the furniture with a stiff bristled brush and wipe it down with a rag and cloth. Check for loose pieces and glue them back in place using an epoxy glue. If a strand needs to be replaced, you can replace it with wicker strips from a craft store. Soak the wicker strips for 1/2 an hour in water so that it is easy to work with. If you want to paint and varnish, it's probably easiest to use a spray paint on a spread out plastic sheet.

    Good luck!!

Wash the chair down, allow to dry, repair any loose pieces with a wood glue, and spray paint with Rustoleums 2X spray paint available in a wide range of color.
