You will have to spray the lawn down with orthos clover killer.
Clover is essential to the soil by providing nitrogen to it and the flowers help in honey production. We keeps bees and I planted seeds last year just for the bees so they can have flowers to get nectar from. For other weeds, Mom use Roundup or a vinegar/dawn/water solution (1 cup vinegar, 1 tablespoon Dawn, 1 cup water in a spray bottle), depending what we can afford at the time.
Please don't use Roundup ! the active ingredient, glyphosate, is so damaging to the environment that many countries have banned it. It is highly carcinogenic and please please read up on the effects of it on bees. Here's one link, but there are many others. www.naturalnews.com/046769_Roundup_honeybees_colony_collapse_disorder.html
