My kitchen cabinets are embarrassingly greasy. Please share your degreasing tips with me so I don't have to cringe every time I glance at my cabinets.
Immediately after cooking anything that could potentially become a mess, I let the pot or pan cool down, then drop in sme dawn dishdetergent and fill with water and let soak. For really gloppy stuff I will let soak overnight. Then was as usual. I also clean my stove every time I cook, and I cook every single day, at least for the pets. That way I have no greasy messy stuff built up and never have to do a "major cleaning" - just the easiest way for me. Depending on the type of pot and finish, you can also add some white vinegar.

Get Your Burnt Pots and Pans Clean the Easy Way!
Magic Eraser is what I use.
If you've burnt something on the inside of a saucepan, put 1/4 c of baking soda and 1/4 cup of water and bring it to a simmer on the stove. Ever couple of minutes give it a stir/scrape with a spoon. Might take an hour or so but eventually even heavily charred stuff will flake off.
If it's on the outside of the pan, make a paste of soda and water, apply and cover with a tea towel that's been dampened with vinegar. Leave it over night. What's left should dry scrub off with the soda and a paper towel.
Easy fix for baked on grease:on a hot sunny day, put baking dishes, pots, pans...whatever has blackened residue, in a black garbage bag with a cup or so of ammonia. Seal it shut and set in the sun for a day. When you take it in the grease will have softened up and will wash off easily.
put a dryer sheet in the pan, fill with hot water and let it soak over night. In the morning you should be able to easily clean it out.
I had a terrible burned on mess in my oven. It took three days but came off nicely. I scraped off what I could....it was about 1/2 inch thick. ...then covered the entire burned on part with baking soda, sprayed it with water, closed the door. the next day I cleaned off what had been loosened. I did this two more days. I was thrilled it all...ALL....came off.....no chemicals. I thought I was stuck with that mess forever. another lesson learned was watch your stuffed cabbage
Clean off what you can. Then lay a fabric softener sheet in the bottom of the pan and cover with about an inch of water. Let it set over night. This always works for me:)
