You can wipe off the scratches with mineral oil and pumice. Mix the two, then dry buff until they are gone!
i have read that you can also use a walnut, just rub a piece of nutmeat onto the scratches and then buff....i live with serious scratches, dings and general mistreatment as the diningroom table is where we do stuff.
Any type of oil should work .Coconut,olive,butter,peanut butter. Apply and rub in a circular motion with a soft micro-fiber cloth.
Old English! Comes in tints that work for both blonde and dark stains. Found at hardware stores and sometimes grocery stores in their hardware departments. Also, since so many folks have a bottle on hand, it's an item to look for at Estate Sales along with detergents and other household cleaning supplies.
