Not really home&garden question, but I got an ailing fridge.
At this point, I'd be happy with a appliance repairshop recommendation, to see if it's just a clogged/frozen drain or defrost issue or if the compressor is gone. The home is in downtown Atlanta.

Darby C on Apr 21, 2011Try calling the customer service number for your brand of refrigerator. They have a lot of tips that can help you. I would try defrosting after you talk to them, then clean the coils, that will help also. It sounds like it might be condenser is bad, but it is hard to diagnose without knowing what brand, age, ect. The customer service people can also give you a list of repair people who cover their brand.Helpful Reply

John on Apr 21, 2011Simple. Defrost it completely. Your air supply to the refrigerator area is iced over and blocked. This may take 2 days inside the house if you have the A/C on. It will take 4 or 5 hours if you take the refrigerator ouside in the heat.Helpful Reply

Virginia Peary on Apr 21, 2011who made your fridge? If it's some what new, You can call a company called Norman's Electronics on Clarmont Rd in Atlanta & they may be able to fix it, as they are now working on fridges and a LOT of other stuff, give them a call & they may be able to help you out. BUT If it's not a year old you can take it back to the store & get a new one!!! I hope that I have helped you out in some small way!Helpful Reply

Joe mitchell on Apr 21, 2011Make sure the fan in the back of the freezer is working and has adequate space to circulate. If it is obstructed it causes the freezing up that John had mentioned.Helpful Reply

Keith W on Jun 05, 2011I just went through a simular problem with my freezer and refrigerator not cooling. After taking off the cover inside the freezer I found the evaporator fan was not running. The compressor was cooling but only getting frost on the cover area. I checked the voltage at the plug on the fan and it had power. I replaced the fan and motor assembly and now my freezer and refrigerator are cooling just fine. This may be your problem.Helpful Reply
