Needing something to put our basement tv on, we found this buffet at an antique store. The finish was in pretty bad shape so I decided to give it a distressed paint finish (I know some will cringe). This was my first time doing so. Although I'm not ecstatic about the way it turned out we're living with it. More info and photos on our blog.
As found at antique store.
After sanding off the old worn finish and applying a grey base coat.
I then painted it green, sanded through some spots and applied a light wood stain over the sanded spots.
Finished with a clear coat.

Jeanette S on Jan 05, 2014Wow! Did not like this at all until it was painted...love that green! It is hard for me to like mid-century...that stuff can be so boring and just plain ugly! HA! I guess it is because it was all we had!
