Boring Empty White Wall To Feature Wall!

I moved into my new studio apartment a few months ago and still have far too many white walls. One in particular was glaringly white and empty. Right when you walk in the front door behind my couch. It was just so sad so I decided to do something about it (on a dime!)
Here's how it started. Plain and in need of some TLC.
After I realized the wall I wanted to put my picture ledge on was actually CONCRETE, I knew I needed to bring in the muscle (AKA my boyfriend John). :)
Start by lining up where your holes need to be and drill them in.
Very important- if you're hanging something on a concrete wall you need to make sure you use blue masonry screws.
Drill the screws in to secure your picture ledge. I got this one at Ikea for next to nothing!
I framed one of my favorite prints, Max Wanger's 'County Line.' It reminds me of living in California. :)
Then get to styling your ledge! I put up the large print as well as these LED candles (also cheap from Ikea). The swan print was actually $2 from Goodwill right near our office!
I love how it turned out and I hope this inspires you to give your blank boring walls a fresh look!
Enjoyed the project?
