How to Chalk Paint a Table in 2 Hours
Chalk paint -no priming necessary. Generally will take a couple of coats. If you like a distressed look you can use a sponge and gently wipe the paint back. Apply a couple of coats of wax (I use paste floor wax) and it's good to go. If you are looking for a more solid finish then you'll have to sand and prime the table and use a water based enamel paint -no waxing necessary.
I also like chalk paint. I have used two kinds and like the finished look of the Annie Sloan brand. Be careful if you use an antique wax stain! The first time I used it, I applied too much and it totally changed the look I wanted! I rubbed and rubbed trying to lighten it to no avail😩My client was happy with the tables, fortunately!
Consult a paint store, tell them the kind of wood you have and the finish if you know it. It will probably require some sanding but you can rent a power sander if you don't have one.
Thank you everyone for all your help!!!
