Are they adding a driveway sealer? Like this?
many hardware stores have sealers you can purchase. I strongly recommend old shoes and pants that can be thrown away after you apply as it has a tendency to splatter. There are also services that will spray for you. Talk to your neighbours who have not done it yet and they will often offer a deal if a few people all get it done at same time.
Jean, usually a SEALER and then a layer of asphalt is applied, then a heat roller is used to press it . . it is a process, and should be done on a good weekend, when NO RAIN is predicted, for a better SEAL. You can also look at a local hardware store, for the process, and make a list of questions, to ask, and this will give you more insight. Enjoy, and make sure to keep the windows closed for the weekend. Judy.
