Try Easy Off No Fume Oven Cleaner in the BLUE can. Spray it on, let it foam and sit for a while, then rinse. If that doesn't work try Goo Gone or WD40. I despise all the "As seen on TV" garbage.
Sorry to hear you had this issue. I have purchased a zillion cans of Flex Seal to repair leaks on my roof and for the back of my boat to try to reseal around the back window, it never worked. I kept trying because I thought I just had to use more, no, it just doesn't work. Even if your tub had looked nice, it probably would have let water under the seal and you would have had a terrible mess no matter what you did. Why can't you just sand it off? You will probably have to have a company come out and professionally reseal the tub. I have heard that you can get that done for a few hundred dollars and and it works, its guaranteed, and you have recourse should something go wrong. Good luck. I feel for you.
I still wouldn't trust the tub reseal option. The people before us did this after having leak issues in the upstairs bathroom. The tub looked dirty with the peeling recoat. We ended up pulling out the tub and crappy tiled walls and replacing it all with a complete tub surround. Aaahh, finally a tub I feel comfortable taking a bath in! I feel for you!
