I have a big space like that. I collect Blue and White porcelain, so I mounted some of the pieces from my collection and also added some flat baskets.
I have a large ornamental piece hanging in mine
I bought a beautiful metal art piece, that was made in Haiti. The Hatians use old oil barrels to create amazing pieces!! I bought it on Amazon for $79.00. Mine is a Celtic tree of life and is about a 2 ft. circle. It's even signed by the artist...His name is woven into the tree. Everyone who sees it ohhs and ahhs over it and it makes me feel good to help the Hatian people. It would be beautiful in the spot on your wall. They have loads of designs. Check it out!😅
Put a window box ABOVE the windows, fill with faux flowers and trailing greens, when you want a change, put the bottom against the wall and voila! shelving.
A metal art piece would be a great choice for that space.
Stencil what ever suits you fancy. that;s what I did in one of my homes....
I have a shelf 8" above my kitchen window on 2 walls which meet at the corner. On these shelves I have put my nicknacks--seagulls on one and cats on the other. The shelves are about 5" deep.
I've seen some decorative crosses that look pretty good.

I can't believe no one has asked you what room this is in. Whatever you put there, consider the ease or inconvenience of cleaning. Something more substantial like wood or metal construction would be easier and safer to clean. I am concerned that anything breakable would be damaged. Of course that's the clean freak in me
One wall to wall shelf using a 2 x 8 inch wide board wich will hold what ever you want up there, and that will give you the options of seasonal/ holiday decor changes
stencil your favorite saying!
Xthanks for all the wonderful ideas. This is actually in my den and I found a 48" windmill wheel and put it there. I like the wood and metal look.
Use as a Gallary. Clocks, Mirrors, Art etc. Or you could run a large faux beam across the wall left to right at a point that suits you and then treat the above space as ceiling.
Be different. I have laser cut metal pieces that are powder coated in a flat black on the walls. I live in Oregon so went with local animals (like bear, deer, elk).
Hi Delores, hope this helps you out. This link has some fabulous ideas

I would put decorative molding around the windows, and window film that looks like stained glass. I too have some metal pieces that I purchased in Mexico years ago for a cathedral ceiling.
Kirklands sells over sized pictures so does Home Goods and both are reasonably priced. If money is an object, go to estate sales and resale shops. Have fun
A big beautiful mural to go along with the decor.
